From Chocolates to Cloud: Mastering Business Automation at Jagannath University

We are thrilled to announce that Dot BD Solutions Limited, in collaboration with the Jagannath University IT Society (JnU ITS), successfully organized a dynamic workshop today titled "Odoo ERP: The Future of Business Automation."
The session was designed not just to lecture, but to demonstrate exactly how a business runs—and how technology revolutionizes it.
A Unique Experiment: The "Easy Life" Simulation
Easy Life
Unlike traditional seminars that rely heavily on slides, our CEO, Md. Rajibul Islam, took a completely interactive approach. He invited students onto the stage to build a mock company from scratch, which they named "Easy Life."
To understand the core of business operations, the students physically simulated a supply chain using chocolates:
The Setup: Students acted as Vendors, Inventory Managers, and Sales Officers.
The Deal: They practiced procurement by buying stock at a cost price (2 Taka), managing an inventory of 75 units, and setting a selling price (5 Taka) to generate profit.
The Chaos: As "sales agents" went into the audience to sell, they quickly realized the difficulty of tracking Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Stock levels manually.
This practical exercise highlighted the chaos of manual management and set the stage for the real solution: Odoo ERP.
Transforming Chaos into Order
Once the manual business concept was understood, the session shifted to the digital realm. We demonstrated how to replicate the entire "Easy Life" operation inside Odoo:
Instant Setup: Creating a database on Odoo.com in seconds.
Real-Time Automation: Showing how a single Purchase Order automatically updates Inventory levels and generates a Bill for the accounting team—eliminating the need for manual data entry.
Integrated Flows: How Sales, CRM, and Accounting talk to each other seamlessly.

The "Crossroad" of Your Career
The workshop also featured a powerful session by our Chief Business Officer, Saifuddin Naim. He addressed the "Crossroad" that every student faces after graduation.
He emphasized that in today's competitive job market, simply having a degree is not enough. Employers are looking for candidates who can add Value. He highlighted that mastering tools like Odoo ERP acts as a massive differentiator, opening doors to global career opportunities and higher starting salaries because you understand the entire business process, not just one isolated task.
